Rev. David Byrley
Rev. David Byrley has served as Spiritual Leader of Renaissance Unity of Northeast Ohio since July 1, 2022, guiding a growing community devoted to spiritual awakening, inner transformation, and the realization of Oneness.
Rooted in Unity teachings yet reaching into the depths of Christian Mysticism and metaphysical spirituality, Rev. David’s ministry centers on what he describes as “The New Salvation – It’s the Original One”—a return to our essential nature through the healing of the perception of separation.
Drawing from the life and teachings of Jesus as a universal pattern of awakening, Rev. David presents a path of embodied transformation often referred to as Christ Consciousness—the integration of spirit and form, heaven and earth, within the individual. His work invites seekers beyond belief systems into direct realization: not simply learning spiritual truth but becoming it.
His messages weave together scripture, metaphysical insight, and spiritual science to illuminate the journey from the perception of separation to an awareness of unity. With clarity and depth, he explores themes such as inner reconciliation and the activation of a deeper, radiant coherence within the body and mind.
Rev. David’s work resonates especially with those drawn to Christian Mysticism, metaphysical Christianity, A Course in Miracles, Jewish mystical thought, and other pathways of conscious awakening. He creates a space where sincere seekers—across theological backgrounds and life perspectives—can explore higher consciousness while remaining rooted, inclusive, and engaged with the world.
All this is brought together through Rev. David’s deep commitment to cultivating a spiritually grounded space where individuals can move beyond division without bypassing their humanity. He is passionate about creating a community where those who are curious beyond traditional Christianity, Judaism, and other religions’ orthodoxy—and those within it—can coexist in authenticity, including people across liberal, moderate, and conservative perspectives. Rather than centering identity or ideology, this space invites a shared commitment to expanding consciousness, deepening awareness, and embodying unity. Here, diversity of thought is not something to resolve, but something to hold within a greater field of understanding—where transformation arises not from agreement, but through Presence and a willingness to awaken together.
Before coming to Renaissance Unity, Rev. David served at Unity of Medina as both Assistant Minister and later Spiritual Leader. His years of leadership—including service as Board Member and Board President—inform his grounded, heart-centered, and collaborative approach to ministry.
Ordained through Madonna Ministries International, Rev. David is currently participating in Unity Worldwide Ministries’ Special Dispensation program as he continues his path toward Unity ordination. He lives in the Northeast Ohio area together with his wife Teri. They will be celebrating 40 years of marriage this June!
